Christmas Birth Poem: Beneath The Star
Beneath the star.
Things are happening
Shifting, moving
The time is coming
Something’s stirring
Beneath the star.
Strange sounds
Moans, whines, and loud breaths
Movements, rustling, pacing
It sounds unsettled
Something’s stirring
Beneath the star
Reaching out to grab hold
Of an anchor
To stay grounded
To stay secure
Holding tight through the
Overwhelming, intense waves
Somethings stirring
Beneath the star.
The barn’s odour has changed.
it’s an earthy, birthy smell.
Intermingling of transition, new life, fluids, waters, blood.
Something’s stirring
Beneath the star.
It’s finally time.
The incredible, intense, messy and powerful birth
Of the Prince of peace.
Into a dark and broken world.
Hope and light from the heavenly realms
Becoming a human baby, born of a human mother
The chains can now be broken
This is the plan.
He can take all the blame
He can carry it all
This is it.
He’s entering the world.
Something’s stirring
Beneath the star.
